Settled with his children in Barranca, a fashionable suburb of Lima, Bram is restless. Sidney Obligor, as the man responsible for what has befallen his family, must pay and Bram is enacting a plan.

Unbeknown to Bram, however, he has become valuable to the game-plans of others. Two powerful men who have bet all on achieving audacious goals. Both are driven by their scaring pasts and unified by only one thing. They must destroy each other to accomplish their life ambitions.

Rachael is grief stricken by the loss of her partner Vasyli. Bram finds himself in a unique position to give her hope. Despite past promises to Xoese, his wife, he cannot not deny her help. He owes Rachael too much.

The calamity is no mere happenstance, however. It is the trigger for the grander game-plans to start. Bram and Rachael must understand quickly the forces unleashed or be consumed by them.

Drawn into a labyrinthine underworld, they pick a path between the clandestine services of the United States, Britain, and Russia, and become ensnared by the corrupt military in Venezuela.

Out of the chaos, the reason behind Vasyli’s disappearance becomes clear, but that only shows he and Rachael have missed the workings of a greater plan, which means Bram’s children are at risk… he races back to Barranca.
